Mac OS X Disk Utility allows creating disk image with 128-bit encryption. A disk image is referred as a file which contains entire disk contents and its structure. Mac Data Recovery experts suggest creating images of volumes or important files and folders as data backup on regular basis. Mac OS X saves these image files with .dmg file extension that can be of any size. When recognized and double-clicked in Disk Utility, the image file is mounted as a virtual volume. But sometimes, damaged or corrupted disk images can create issues for directory structure of Mac OS X volume. If the disk image is damaged and is being attempted to mount, it can bring serious problems to volume integrity. Mac OS X 10.4.9 and later versions can easily detect disk image damage and give the following alert: “The disk image you are opening may be damaged and could damage your system. Are you sure you want to open this disk image?” This alert appears when user tries to open or mount damaged disk image. Earlier versions of Mac OS X could not efficiently recognize such damages. So, opening or mounting damaged disk images can corrupt Mac OS X volumes. It may also happen if user clicks to open damaged disk images after the above alert. To repair volume corrupted in this way, you can try these steps: • Open affected volume with Disk Utility and repair • If Disk Utility can’t repair the damaged volume, run fsck in single-user mode • If problem persist, reformat the disk and restore lost data from recent backup. Reformatting recreates all disk structures, but with reference to earlier data. If data backup is not valid, complete or is not present, you can simply use third party Mac Recovery applications. These are special tools that can scan the affected drive and restore all lost files and folders with original content and view. Except after data overwriting, these Mac Data Recovery software can be used in logical data loss problem. Such applications are quite easy to use and have interactive interface. Stellar Phoenix Mac Data Recovery is the complete and safe Mac Recovery application. It supports Mac OS X 10.5.x, 10.4.x and 10.3.9. The software comes with bootable DVD support. Windows Server 2003 supports clustering. The major benefit that user gets in clustered environment is failover support for back-end applications and services that are ought to have data integrity and high availability. Windows Server 2003 allows extending hard disk partition in clustered environment using DiskPart.exe. The Extend command can be used in DiskPart utility that enables a user to extend a partition. But in some cases, user finds situations in which volume information is lost and hence Partition Recovery becomes necessary as the olution.• DiskPart.exe is a volume, partition and disk managing tool for MS Windows. The tool can take command-line parameters or scripts as input. The command is followed by the partition or volume that is selected and kept at focus. This command line tool can only be used to extend the hard disk partition if system fulfills certain set of requirements. Among these requirements, availability of some additional free space at the end of the existing drive s most important. But there are several cases in which partition recovery requirements may arise when user finds volume information loss. When a user implements DiskPart utility in order to change hard disk partition size in clustered environment and then moves the volume, an error may appear as:”The system cannot find the path specified.”The error occurs when user attempts to view the contents of volume through command prompt after using DiskPart extend partition operation and moving the volume. However, a hotfix is available to correct the issue, but the information already lost is only recoverable using Partition Recovery Software.Partition Recovery applications are safe and powerful tools to extract lost, missing or damaged partition information. These tools use algorithms that scan the disk to restore the data. Partition Recovery Software provide interactive interface to offer complete user friendliness. In order to use ese applications, it is essential to get a healthy bootable hard drive or a different computer to install the recovery software. The affected hard drive can then be attached to the bootable hard drive or the system to recover lost or corrupted partitions. If we install the application on the affected hard drive, it will overwrite the inaccessible files. Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery offers partition recovery using efficient scanning algorithms. This partition recovery software is compatible with Windows Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000. It supports FAT16, FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file systems based Windows partitions and volumes.
Im currently running BartPE on my WinXP Computer. I am using the program because when I boot the XP on the computer, I receive the Blue Screen Of Death Unmountable Boot Volume, and I have no XP CD. I used the CHKDSK command and Im trying to locate the MSRFIX plugin or some similar FIXBOOT command to remount everything. If anyone could provide me with some details on where I go from here, It’d be appreciated.
