Using partition recovery software the right wayIn order to safely recover lost data using partition recovery software, do not restart your computer when the recovery process ends. Instead, save the drive with the lost partition as a secondary drive behind another bootable drive (meaning you need to have a second working drive with its own operating system, not just a secondary data drive). Now start the drive, and copy all of the files from the non-functioning drive to the one that is working. Safety is the first step.Does it really matter? Why do you need to do all of this when it would be so much easier to just reboot your computer. Partition recover software presents a problem when it asks you to boot the computer again once they fix the partition. The files may have corruption which you cannot tell beforehand, and you reboot, you can damage the partition and the data. Then you will never recover your files. If you are trying to replace data recovery with partition recovery software because you want to avoid using the required process, this is a bad idea. To recover your data safely with partition recovery software or data recovery tools, you must focus on data safety first, and hope everything goes quicker than expected.Knowing the steps to takePartition recovery software is meant to recover any number of partition tables on a hard disk drive. This is what allows you to recover your files successfully so that you don’t have to go through the time consuming task of actually making al your file from scratch again.Partition recovery software will scan the drive to account for all of the data still present and show its location; this includes deleted, corrupt and over-written data or partitions. For help visit: www.quick-selling-software.com The algorithms will then determine if any of the data is out of place and need to be reorganized so that it is functioning again. Finally, partition recovery software can virtually correct any problems and show the results. If you are satisfied with what the program says it can repair or recover, you can then command the partition recovery software to proceed. The biggest difference between partition recovery software and data recovery software is that one allows partitions to access files, and the other simply recovers your files. If you decide to use partition recovery software take the proper steps to keep from blowing all your data away for good.

Windows Server 2003 supports clustering. The major benefit that user gets in clustered environment is failover support for back-end applications and services that are ought to have data integrity and high availability. Windows Server 2003 allows extending hard disk partition in clustered environment using DiskPart.exe. The Extend command can be used in DiskPart utility that enables a user to extend a partition. But in some cases, user finds situations in which volume information is lost and hence Partition Recovery becomes necessary as the olution.• DiskPart.exe is a volume, partition and disk managing tool for MS Windows. The tool can take command-line parameters or scripts as input. The command is followed by the partition or volume that is selected and kept at focus. This command line tool can only be used to extend the hard disk partition if system fulfills certain set of requirements. Among these requirements, availability of some additional free space at the end of the existing drive s most important. But there are several cases in which partition recovery requirements may arise when user finds volume information loss. When a user implements DiskPart utility in order to change hard disk partition size in clustered environment and then moves the volume, an error may appear as:”The system cannot find the path specified.”The error occurs when user attempts to view the contents of volume through command prompt after using DiskPart extend partition operation and moving the volume. However, a hotfix is available to correct the issue, but the information already lost is only recoverable using Partition Recovery Software.Partition Recovery applications are safe and powerful tools to extract lost, missing or damaged partition information. These tools use algorithms that scan the disk to restore the data. Partition Recovery Software provide interactive interface to offer complete user friendliness. In order to use ese applications, it is essential to get a healthy bootable hard drive or a different computer to install the recovery software. The affected hard drive can then be attached to the bootable hard drive or the system to recover lost or corrupted partitions. If we install the application on the affected hard drive, it will overwrite the inaccessible files. Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery offers partition recovery  using efficient scanning algorithms. This partition recovery software is compatible with Windows Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000. It supports FAT16, FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file systems based Windows partitions and volumes.

I already made the bootable BartPE CD. My OS is corrupted but I need to save bunch of important files (on to either USB stick or another blank CD/DVD) before I reinstall Windows XP.

After starting BartPE, I did the disk check and then I went to “A43 File Management Utility”. In A43 File Management Utility, I can access the files I want to save but I DON’T KNOW how to save those files on USB or CD.

So my main question is, How do I save them onto USB/CD/DVD through BartPE’s?

Don’t know if it matters/helps but the files are bunch of pictures and short home movies.

Step-by-step instructions will be really helpful. Thanks in advance.
Does linux live work with windows XP? That’s what I have.
How do I get to file management? Is it the same thing as “A43 File Management Utility”?
I finally figured it out. I inserted the USB stick after I started BartPE that’s why it wasn’t showing up on A43 File Management Utility. I was supposed to keep the USB plugged in before I load BartPE. Thanks for your help guys.

I recently installed and burnt BartPE onto a bootable CD. I want to modify the registry of a computer i’m fixing for a friend using it. How do I go about doing that? I need to do this to allow task manager and the registry editor to be opened again on the computer. I’ve tried editing the registry in BartPE, but it does nothing so I guess I need to somehow connect the registry from C:\ to BartPE and edit it? I also don’t have the option to load and unload a hive.

hello :)

i have a windows 7 ultimate installation on my partition…i lost the iso file and the DVD i burned and was wondering if there is a way of making an “ISO” out of my current pre-loaded windows installation…i’ve searched all over the net, but most of the answers point to using the back up and restore utility from windows 7 its self…where on the other hand, i want to make an ISO of my current windows, and not to back up all the files in it…

So, is there a tool or a way of creating a bootable installation disk or ISO out of the current pre-loaded windows os??

thanx in advance :)

I know there programs out there that can be put on a bootable disk that allow someone to change the admin password on a computer. My question is – is there any way to prevent that, short of changing settings in the BIOS to prevent it from booting from any external devices?

Is the old adage true- that if someone can get physical access to a machine, they can get into it, no matter what???

I’ve read a bunch online about how you have to use this tool or that tool (like MS’s USB/DVD ISO Download Tool: http://store.microsoft.com/Help/ISO-Tool) to install Windows 7 from a flash drive. However, when I just ran setup.exe from the downloaded installation files (from Digital River’s DLMWin7HP32US.exe — not the ISO), the exact same files were created by that program that the ISO burning put on my DVD-R or USB drive.

What’s so special about these tools that make your USB drive bootable? Couldn’t I just take the install files that the installer created and copy them to my flash drive?

Thanks.

Thanks, MM.
I get why a thumb drive is more convenient than a DVD, especially for a netbook. My confusion was centered on the need for these special tools to make one a boot drive, and I think you answered that.
So, to clarify:
The only reason you would need to use one of the “ISO to Flash Drive” tools is to install on a Window-less hard drive? Am I jiving right?

I’m doing custom installs from within XP & Vista, so these tools aren’t relevant to me, right?

Thanks for the super quick reply.
