WinZip (A Useful tool): While working on the computer system, in almost every type of set up, you surely would find the need to use WinZip software some or the other time to compress large sized files. This helps in speedy transfer of data via emails and other modes like online chat. You can also transfer huge & bulky files/folders quickly from one system to another using USB or other storage drives with the help of this compression facility, which saves your time greatly. The process of zipping and unzipping the files/folders is very quick and highly secure. Moreover, this also saves your download time and even helps in encrypting and decrypting documents containing sensitive information. Zip Files: The compressed files, formed using WinZip software, generally have .ZIP extension. These Zip files mainly use MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) media type application or Zip. Corruption (Errors Observed in Zip Files): Due to some internet problems, you can observe certain errors in your Zip files, which generally occur while downloading these Zip files, leads to their corruption. As a result, the data stored in these Zip files can become inaccessible to you. A Possible Scenario: Imagine a situation, where you tried to open a .Zip file after downloading it from a MS Windows SharePoint Services document library and you get an error message stating: “Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again.” You Zip file data become inaccessible after this error message appears. Possible Cause: The abovementioned situation may occur when the HTTP compression is turned on in the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Web Sites properties on the SharePoint virtual server. Consequently, when you download the Zip file, IIS encodes it as GZIP and the browser client forwards it directly to the unZip program, without GZIP decoding the file.Restore from Backup (A Solution to the Problem): If you are experiencing such problem of data inaccessibility due to corrupted Zip files, then there is a way you can get back your data and i.e. by restoring the data from a recent backup file. However, if you had forgotten to create or never maintained a backup or your backup also has got corrupted, then in that problematic scenario, you can get a third-party Zip File Repair Tool to repair damage Zip file. MFT (Master File Table) is probably the most critical system (metadata) files, which stores information about all the files and folders on a NTFS (New Technology File System) volume. It acts as a beginning point for mounting an NTFS based hard drive. Corruption in MFT can be caused due to various factors, including operating system corruption, file system damage, fatal virus attack, and human errors. Once the MFT gets corrupted, the MBR (Master Boot Record) is unable to read the information stored on the hard drive, resulting into halting the booting of your computer system. This further results into inaccessibility of hard drive data. To overcome the hazards created after MFT corruption, most of the users perform restoration of data from an adequate backup. However, unavailability of data backup leaves you with no option, but to use a third-party data recovery software, which can systematically recover your lost data.
As a practical case, you receive the below error message while attempting to boot your Windows 7 operating system:
“Recovering orphaned file xxxx. Insufficient disk space to recover lost data”
However, even after running CHKDSK, the drive remains corrupt and you receive another error message:
“$MFT read error”
The drive remains unbootable after any of the above error message appear.
Cause:
The root cause for the above error message is MFT corruption.
Resolution:
To resolve the above error message and to access the database, you will need to format your computer system. Formatting is a process that installs a new file system that allows you to boot your system. While your system becomes bootable, the stored in it gets deleted post formatting. For recovery of data after formatting, you will need to download an effective third-party data recovery tool from the Internet.
A data recovery software incorporates high end scanning methods to comprehensively scan the hard drive and recover maximum possible data. The software comes with highly interactive help manual, which makes it easy to understand without any former technical knowledge. It is completely non destructive in nature.

starting in the morning, our symantec antivirus suddenly keeps popping up and displaying that it acted on the risk “bloodhound.E…” by quarantining it. but the thing kept popping up like 5 seconds after i close the notice window. now, it’s probably quarantined 50 of the same virus. will someone please help me and tell me how to solve this or what’s going on?
I tried deleting the file out of the symantec program data (that’s where it originally came from according to the thing) but it can’t be completed because it was in use by another program. i think it might be because the symantec thing put it in quarantine, but i can’t figure out how to get it out. can anyone help me and am i doing the right thing?

Windows registry is a crucial component that stores all the options and configurations required by operating system. The database provides settings to all Windows components and also to applications that run on computer’s boot files. A severe error in Windows registry can sometimes turn into an unbootable system. At times, such problems can also be associated with configuration manager. Consequently, system fails to read registry files. The stored data becomes inaccessible too. To solve these problems, you might get compelled to reinstall the system, which again causes a problem of data loss. However, if a valid backup is not available in such cases, you should use a Windows Data Recovery product that can efficiently recover the lost data from your hard disk.
To illustrate such problems, you can consider a practical situation when you try to boot a Windows-based computer. The boot operation may fail with an error as below:
“STOP: 0×00000051 (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4) REGISTRY_ERROR”
Description
parameter1 and parameter2 are reserved values, parameter3 represents the pointer to the registry hive, if available and parameter4 gives the output of HvCheckHive if it finds the hive corrupt.
Cause
The error implies Windows registry or configuration manager issues. This indicates that registry has failed to perform an I/O operation with its files.. The possible causes of I/O error with registry files are:
Hardware issues
File system is corrupt
Sometimes, the error also means that a refresh operation has failed as a result of limited resources.
Solution
The following suggestions can help you recovering from the above problem:
If you encounter this issue at next start after installing a new hardware, you should remove it and boot the computer again. The hardware might be incompatible.
In case when no new hardware has been installed, you should create a dump file after rebooting with set recovery options.
If the problem persists, you should select the Last Last Known Good configuration to get back the system to the last working state.
You need to boot your computer using Windows repair or installation disk if all the above measures fail. After this, you can repair the corrupted file system by running chkdsk.
If your data still remains inaccessible because of an unbootable computer, you should use a Windows Partition Recovery tool to salvage it. These utilities use exclusive Windows Data Recovery techniques to recover lost data from a corrupted or inaccessible disk.
Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software is an efficient product that recovers and restores lost data and partitions stored on Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000-based systems. The software can be ordered with a bootable DVD. The advanced Windows Partition Recovery tool uses high-end algorithms and provides an easy installation plus self-descriptive interface.

Windows Vista Disk Partitioning scheme is different from earlier Windows versions. Windows Vista partitions require some reserved space before the primary partition, so most of the partitioning software may fail at this point. Though Windows Vista and Windows 7 include built-in features that allow to expand and shrink disk partitions with no data loss, but partitioning software are still used. One common issue related with such software are that they can cause boot problems to a Windows Vista-based system. As a result, the data stored on Windows partitions become inaccessible and compel you to restore it from the latest backup available. If backup doesn’t work, use of a partition recovery software is recommended.
To illustrate such problems, suppose you use Windows Vista-based computer. You use GParted (the bootable Linux CD used to manage disk partitions) to resize your Windows Vista partition. After this, you find that you cannot boot into the computer and receive the following error:
File:\windows\system32\winload.exe
Status:0xc000000f
Info:The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.
Cause
You have resized your boot/system partition with GParted that has corrupted the Winload.exe file of Windows Vista. Winload.exe is the Windows Vista boot loader that is called by Windows Boot Manager to load Windows kernel and device drivers. Windows cannot boot without this file being absent or corrupt.
Solution
To solve Winload.exe corruption in this case, you should repair the Windows installation by following these steps:
Insert the Windows Vista installation CD/DVD and boot your computer from it.
You receive a Welcome screen, at which you need to click ‘Next’.
Click ‘Repair your computer’ at the next screen.
The System Recovery Options box will appear asking you to ‘Repair and Restart’. Click it.
The Windows Vista will start running as normal if the computer repair succeeds. If not, your computer will remain unbootable. In such situations, you should recover the inaccessible data using partition recovery utilities. However, if you have full backup, you can go for formatting and clean Windows install. Partition Recovery Software are scanning-based utilities with high competency to recover lost or deleted Windows partitions safely.
Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is an advanced, yet safe, utility with rich graphical features to provide easy data recovery. The comprehensive partition recovery utility supports Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000. The tool is available with quality features, which include Disk Cloning, Disk Imaging, Drive Status and more.

Master Boot Record or MBR is the first sector of hard disk that is accessed to determine where and how the operating system is located so that the computer can boot. It also imparts information, like number and type of partitions that the hard disk contains. Because it is the first code executed when the computer is turned on, it is one of the common sites for virus writers to aim. For this reason or another similar if MBR gets damaged, serious data loss can take in effect. In such circumstances if all techniques to rewrite the MBR fail and suitable data backup is unavailable too, it is suggested to look for a Windows Data Recovery tool.
For instance, suppose you try to boot your Wis-based computer. The boot process may not end successfully and stop at a black screen. Additionally, you might receive an error message, such as below:
“No bootable partiton in table”
You cannot access the data stored on hard disk after you receive this error message.
Cause
The above error can most prominently occur if you have modified the disk MBR or your computer cannot find one. Most likely, the MBR is corrupt.
It can also happen if the computer is trying to boot from a storage media (such as, USB, CD/DVD etc.) that doesn’t contain the valid boot instructions (MBR).
Solution
Make sure that no USB device or CD/DVD is connected to the computer when you are trying to start it. Also, ensure the correct boot sequence in BIOS settings that should point to your hard disk first.
If none of these solutions work, boot the computer using Windows installation disk and start the Windows Recovery Console or Windows Recovery Environment (depending on your operating system). Access the command prompt and run fixmbr command.
Note: Always install and use a powerful anti-virus program to prevent such problems from occurring.
If your data still remains inaccessible, you can use a Windows Partition Recovery utility to recover partition . A Windows Data Recovery tool allows to recover and restore lost data using high-end scanning algorithms.
