Right, here’s my problem (I’m not good with computer terminology so I’ll do my best!)

I think I have some sort of virus or spyware on my computer, but repeated virus searches don’t fix the problem. I’m currently running Ad-Aware, AVG Virus Search, SpyBot Search and Destroy, CWShredder and SuperAntiSpyware but none of them seem to fix the problem.

What is happening is:

1. Whenever I try to open www.google.com, i get a message telling me that ‘my query is similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spy ware application’. I have followed the guidelines on how to fix this problem, but nothing has worked yet.

2. When I do manage to get access to Google (via my google toolbar) and I search for something (e.g. ‘wikipedia’) the links that it finds for me don’t take me to the page that it is supposed to. Instead, I find myself on other webpages with search boxes on them, with my search query typed in. For example, one page was called ‘http://team-circumstance.info’, and they all seem to mention ‘blinx videos’.

3. All links to other pages, even ones I have visited before, load REALLY slowly. My web connection insists that I am running at between 200 and 300 mbps, which seems like it should be a lot faster than it really is.

4. When I noticed this problem, I ran an AVG 8.0 free edition scan of my whole computer, and it almost always ended up bringing up the ‘blue screen of death’ part way through. This then restarted my computer, forcing me to turn it off manually. However, if I pressed ALT + TAB while the blue screen or the restarting screen was there, it minimised the screen and presented me with my desktop, AVG still scanning. On the small grey box that appears when you press ALT + TAB, this mystery program appeared as a computer screen with a blue screen and white writing on it.

5. If the ‘blue screen’ problem described above doesn’t occur, then AVG will suddenly encounter a problem when it scans, telling me that the components aren’t functioning and that I am unprotected. Then, however, it carries on scanning and restarts the components until they are all up and running. This always happens close to the beginning of the scan, possibly while it is scanning the system registry.

If anybody has any idea what has happened and how to get rid of it then it would be much appreciated, if any experts out there need any more information then just give me a shout.

Thanks in advance.

This began on Saturday and it has been very annoying. The pop-ups seem to advertise for random things but more often than not deals with some sort of computer virus remover software that I can download for free. I tend to think my problem is related to the people behind said product, but I know very little about computers and thus do not know how to battle this problem. I would greatly appreciate any help/advice that can be given.

The past 2 weeks or so my computer has been showing columns of little rectangles. I start up the computer and there are a few rectangles, here and there, but then after about 20 sec. there are 4 to 6 columns of 25 little bluish rectangles going down my computer screen. It starts out on the desktop, then once i click on anything, internet web-page, MS word, etc., the rectangles disappear for a split second, then come right back, laying right on top of the existing page that is on the screen. I don’t know what to do. I have Trend PC-cillion anti virus, but that seems to do nothing. I do a search for virus’/spyware, and delete everything (including cookies) that i find. It doesn’t help. So, i downloaded AVG anti virus, and did the exact same thing. That didnt help either, AVG found a few more serious threats, so i put them to the valt (w/e that means), and this did nothing. I dont know what do to, can anyone help me??

Hello,

Since yesterday my computer has been acting very strange. Even though I use Firefox, I keep getting pop-ups for IE asking me if I am ‘sure I want to navigate away from this page?’ Every time I do, I keep getting AUDIO recordings, saying “Congratulations! You’ve just been selected to win a free Nintendo Wii,” and just right now it played an audio clip of Tina Fey appearing on Letterman talking about Sarah Palin.

I’ve checked all my start-up programs and task managers, and see that these audio clips stop only when I turn off Google Taskbar Broker, and two running Internet Explorer programs I have no idea about.

Ran a virus scan, and all is clean. What should I do?

Thank you.
I’m pretty sure my firewall is on, but how do I check?
Yikes! I just checked… my firewall was OFF! This is not good…

i have a memorex flash drive. it was 8gb. Then, i tried the hp drive key utility to make the drive bootable, so i could put the BartPE installation of XP on the flash drive. I abandoned the project, and so now, when i go to put some stuff on my flash drive, i only have 3.8gb when i should have 8gb. Anyone got any ideas on how to get it back to 8gb?
i did format it, and it still ended up 3.68gb or something. Then, i put the drive up to my mouth and blew the contacts clean. NOW I’m getting 7.68gb or something. Thats probably why so many people have trouble with their flash drives. DIRTY CONTACTS SUCK OUT LOUD!!!!!

Hi, I was on facebook and someone commented on my facebook saying there was a picture of me up somewhere, the link said google something so I clicked it, yes I know foolish, and then it downloaded onto my computer. Now pop ups keep saying Runtime error 21 at 019D49D2…the first three numbers can keep changing though. I did a norton check and an avg check and nothing shows up. Now it says TypeError:avg_DTFox.prefs has no properties everytime I try and open up firefox which does not open regardless. I am not well educated with computers so can someone walk me through the process or tell me what to do to fix this? I cannot even access the internet because firefox wont let me load the internet. PLEASE HELP !!
UPDATE: fixed the firefox problem so i now have access to the internet….but the things still pop up.

Okay, well I know I have several computer viruses. I believe I have Spyware and Adclicker.
I just need to get rid of them!
When I turn on my computer, it comes up with errors and booting it up takes a ridiculous amount of time. Then when I click onto internet explorer, it works for less than 30 seconds and then another window pops up saying “invalid syntax error” and they just keep popping up more and more where is at the point where I can no longer get to the website I was at. Then I have to do CTRL+ ALT+ DLTE to close internet explorer. Then sometimes when I’m on AIM it freezes up. PLEASE HELP. Any information that you can provide will be much appreciated.
i also have these temporary files in my computer that can not be deleted for some reason. any advice for those?

My Norton Auto-Protect has never pop up before, and suddenly today, it keeps popping up saying there’s a packed generic 128 risk or something, and it keeps deleting some files (They all start with APQ something something)… I close it and then a few minutes later it just pops up again deleting more files…
I’m really not good with computers, so can anyone tell me what’s going on and if this is a big problem? Also, can I stop this problem?
P.s. I did an in depth scan with NOD 32, it didn’t say I have any infected files…
Big thanks!
I also did a complete scan with Norton and it didn’t say I have any infection, but the Auto-Protect just keeps popping up. I also just realize that a file I deleted a few days ago “magically” reappeared again, but without an extension (So that the file name ends in .) and I can’t delete it again…
I just want to know whether I have a serious various problem and if it will not spread to my external hard drive if I use it to back up the important files I have here….

I went to bed one night, and when I awoke there were like- 14 internet explorer windows open. A program called ‘Antispyware Soft’ on my computer that I CANT close because there is no button and it stops me from opening taskmgr, and every ten seconds it said “Application cannot be executed. [Program.Exe or something] has been infected.”. I ran my regular Spyware Terminator thing and it said that there were like, eight infections. It cleared those up, and then I restarted my computer. This same thing continues. It wont go away, and I cant find a way to fix it. Every ten-fifteen minutes it tries to open a page like ‘www.adult.com’ or ‘www.porno.com’ or ‘www.porno.org’ or a whole lot of different bs. So yeah…Please help me?
It also wont let me run Malwarebytes, saying that MBAM.exe is infected. Is there some sort of way to stop this?
