The past 2 weeks or so my computer has been showing columns of little rectangles. I start up the computer and there are a few rectangles, here and there, but then after about 20 sec. there are 4 to 6 columns of 25 little bluish rectangles going down my computer screen. It starts out on the desktop, then once i click on anything, internet web-page, MS word, etc., the rectangles disappear for a split second, then come right back, laying right on top of the existing page that is on the screen. I don’t know what to do. I have Trend PC-cillion anti virus, but that seems to do nothing. I do a search for virus’/spyware, and delete everything (including cookies) that i find. It doesn’t help. So, i downloaded AVG anti virus, and did the exact same thing. That didnt help either, AVG found a few more serious threats, so i put them to the valt (w/e that means), and this did nothing. I dont know what do to, can anyone help me??

I just managed to get a virus. Its the rogue program Internet Security 2010. When I start in safe mode and try to enter the Regedit it kicks me out saying that file is infected. Then I use the taskmanager to try and kill any running processes but it says the task manager is disabled.?????
So i use search to find the program and it wont let me delete it. Internet is also not working. (im writing this on a diff comp.) I need some ideas where to start.

The CD rom in my laptop stopped working a couple of months back. Now some of my system files have been corrupted and i can’t start windows. My laptop supports bootable USB so i want to create a bootable Windows XP flash drive.

I read some article and downloaded the software ‘ Flash Boot ‘ to do that. With Flash Boot i tried to convert a bootable XP cd into a bootable flash drive. But everytime i try, this error appears.
” Error: Specified CD-ROM disk is neither ISOLinux-based nor floppy emulation mode bootable CD-ROM; Thus it cannot be converted ”

I also downloade PE Builder(BartPE). There’s an option to write a bootable cd, but it doesn’t seem to help me as my cd rom is not working.

It there any other software that i can use to create a bootable flash drive? Or can i make a ISOLinux-based windows XP CD and use Flash Boot to convert it to a flash drive?

Any computer genius please help me out. Any assistance would be very much appeacited.

My dad has an administrator account on our windows vista and it is password protected. I have done research on how to recover (not reset) the password and I can’t find anything good. I did however learn about BartPE which sounds like it would work in my situation (create another admin and change some settings). My question is: HOW do I do this BartPE thing?? Can anyone pls walk me thru it?

Ps- I believe my pc is a home edition but I’m not totally sure

I restarted my computer and when it restored all it showed was a black screen except for Microsoft Privacy Center popped up (not my default virus scanner). When I tried closing it, it told me “this action was prohibited, please check your settings”. When I tried ridding of the viruses, hoping it would help, it told me I needed to update there software for 60 bucks.
I try pressing the window key on my keyboard so I can get to my control panel, no luck.
I tried pressing the window key and E to get to my computer, but no luck again.

I’d be down to restore my whole system if someone can tell me how to do that, except I have Sony Vegas installed and I don’t want to lose that, as well as I don’t want to lose my music or video files.

Help anyone!?!

While using Microsoft Movie Maker program, my computer froze. I was recording a video to put on You Tube. Even as it froze, the video continued to record. My mouse (wireless) and my keyboard (wireless) both stopped working. I shut down the computer (Dell) and restarted it. When I got to the front page where I enter my name and password, the keyboard and mouse would not function. Its as if communication from the mouse/keyboard has been severed.

Anyone have an experience with this sort of problem before?? I had received an invitation to add someone from Yahoo Messenger just prior to my mouse cursor freezing, and no ability to use my keyboard. I hope this wasn’t a virus…

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Sean
