I want to know if there is a way to get the host computer name to showup in BartPE. I know Bart creates its own registry so it automatically creates a new computer name, but is there a way to grab the one that actually applies to the computer?
I pinged it but it doesn’t produce a computer name for the host, it grabs Bart’s name
I guess a better question would then be is there a way to access the registry that’s on the local drive rather than what’s on the BartPE disk?
The problem with loading the system registry into BartPE is that the computer name will only work for that computer. I need BartPE (or something in BartPE) to be able to grab the name from the Windows registry on the local drive. Unless someone knows of a file located on the local drive that contains the computer name info.
