WinZip (A Useful tool): While working on the computer system, in almost every type of set up, you surely would find the need to use WinZip software some or the other time to compress large sized files. This helps in speedy transfer of data via emails and other modes like online chat. You can also transfer huge & bulky files/folders quickly from one system to another using USB or other storage drives with the help of this compression facility, which saves your time greatly. The process of zipping and unzipping the files/folders is very quick and highly secure. Moreover, this also saves your download time and even helps in encrypting and decrypting documents containing sensitive information. Zip Files: The compressed files, formed using WinZip software, generally have .ZIP extension. These Zip files mainly use MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) media type application or Zip. Corruption (Errors Observed in Zip Files): Due to some internet problems, you can observe certain errors in your Zip files, which generally occur while downloading these Zip files, leads to their corruption. As a result, the data stored in these Zip files can become inaccessible to you. A Possible Scenario: Imagine a situation, where you tried to open a .Zip file after downloading it from a MS Windows SharePoint Services document library and you get an error message stating: “Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again.” You Zip file data become inaccessible after this error message appears. Possible Cause: The abovementioned situation may occur when the HTTP compression is turned on in the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Web Sites properties on the SharePoint virtual server. Consequently, when you download the Zip file, IIS encodes it as GZIP and the browser client forwards it directly to the unZip program, without GZIP decoding the file.Restore from Backup (A Solution to the Problem): If you are experiencing such problem of data inaccessibility due to corrupted Zip files, then there is a way you can get back your data and i.e. by restoring the data from a recent backup file. However, if you had forgotten to create or never maintained a backup or your backup also has got corrupted, then in that problematic scenario, you can get a third-party Zip File Repair Tool to repair damage Zip file. I decided to install a Windows 7 theme for my vista. It contained files like explorer.exe and shell32.dll, and a few others that would add to the effects of it. Of course, I backed up all the files I was replacing. I restart my computer and get 2 errors. Explorer.exe and Shell32.dll. Now, I can’t access my computer. So I tried putting it in safe mode to fix it up, but it still gives me the shell32.dll error.
I don’t know what to do. I googled windows live cd, but could only find something called bartpe. I tried that and it didn’t work, it gave me hundreds of errors and when I tried putting it on a disc then using it on the computer, it didn’t boot. I really need some assistance, I will try anything that doesn’t involve reformatting my computer. That’s an ABSOLUTE last option. And I don’t have any windows cd’s only a restoration cd that came with my laptop that can only reformat and reinstall vista.
you fail at proper advice. First, it’s a trusted theme that others have gotten working, second, I AM USING VISTA. It is a them to make Vista look like Windows 7. I am 99.5% sure it’s not a virus, so that’s pretty dang sure.
And this is the theme btw, in case you don’t believe it’s trusted.

Anyways, it wasn’t an installer version or anything, it couldn’t have installed additional files.

Tried everything to boot your Windows based system, but it is still unbootable? Unable to find out the exact cause for unbootability of your system? The most obvious cause for the above scenarios is severe damage in file system. In most cases of file system corruption, a Windows user encounters a boot error message that does not allow him/her to access the data saved in the hard drive. Few major causes of corruption in file system are improper system shutdown, virus attack, application malfunction, and operating system damage. These scenarios can be easily surmounted if the user has created an adequate backup of all his hard drive data. However, in the absence of an updated backup, the user needs to opt for powerful Data Recovery solutions.
Consider, while trying to boot your Windows Vista based system, you receive an error message :
“windows failed to startup properly, a resent hardware or software change might be the cause.”
The moment the above error message pops up, the booting process stops, rendering to inaccessibility of hard drive data.
Cause:
Damage in Windows file system.
Resolution:
To resolve the above error message, you will need to boot your system using ‘Startup Repair’ option. However, there is a possibility that this option may fail to boot and display the below error message:
“startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically.”
In such cases, if you wish to boot your system, then you can:
Perform a system restore to a particular restore point.
Use Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool to boot your system.
Run CHKDSK command.
Format and re-install Windows Vista operating system.
Re-installation will surmount the above error message and allow you to boot the system. Though the system becomes bootable, all the previously saved hard drive data becomes inaccessible. To access that data, you will need to opt for effective Data Recovery Software. Such data recovery tools scan a formatted Windows based hard drive and recoup all lost files.
Windows Data Recovery Software recovers all lost files post formatting. The Data Recovery application performs recovery in three simple steps. Compatible with FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file systems, the recovery tool supports recovery of 185 different file types. It is designed for Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2003, and 2000.

All I see is a ram disk (B:), the floppy drive, and the CD drive (X:) which I booted from using BartPE with Windows XP.
