I go to my search engine (yahoo or google) to search for whatever i’m searching for, when I hit search it redirects my to a screen asking for a 5 digit either #’s or letters or a mix of both. When I enter that in it comes up with my results but when I click on the link it sends me to a spyware/adware page.
What you have are called ( browser hijacker spyware).
Download SpyBot Search and Destroy. Then download SpyWare Blaster. Both are FREE and awesome programs to keep your PC safe.
Run both programs and watch what they find. SpyBot Search and Destroy found very stubborn spyware on my Pc.
Actually SpyWare Blaster is a spyware PREVENTION program. It doesn’t scan and detect. It prevents as you are on the internet. It polices similar to a firewall for INCOMING viruses, adware, spyware…etc…etc

The problem you are currently facing might be because of your antivirus not providing you with anti-adware & anti-spyware.
If you want to get rid of it, then just download an anti-virus which will block ad-wares & spy-wares.
I would suggest you for eScan anti-virus. It has that option & is effective.

You can download and scan your computer for free.
As the computer is booting press your “F8 Key” repeatly which should bring up the “Windows Advanced Options Menu” . Use your arrow keys to move to “Safe Mode” and press your Enter key.
After into safe mode,run an anti-spyware to remove the spyware and adware on you computer.
Make sure you have 1 or 2 antispyware on your computer and 1 antivirus and also 1 firewall.
